Dr Frasson is the coordinating physician of the Ster Centre in Lamalou-les-Bains, an inter-regional centre of excellence for the rehabilitation of burn victims which has become Europe’s #1 centre for the rehabilitation in 2018. The rehabilitation department cares for about 200 patients per year for an average of 45 days. Patients arrive at the end of their hospital stay, with the goal of minimising the functional, aesthetic and psychological damage caused by the burn. A program based on multiple treatments includes the application of thermal water, joint mobilization, and skin care by manual and mechanical massage using Cellu M6® device (LPG Systems, France) for all patients. In most cases, patients continue the medical endermologie® sessions near their home with a network of physical therapists trained in LPG techniques. Some of them come back regularly for maintenance to prolong the effects of the rehabilitation.

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OVER MANUAL MASSAGE? Manual massage is always part of the rehabilitation program, but the obtained grip is often insufficient because of the many tractions. In addition, fingers can cause abrasive friction and increase the inflammation. Cellu M6® makes it possible to treat the finest, most fragile tissues without the risk of damaging them because the hand can squeeze and press on the tissues while the machine will gently grasp and relax them.
