Pr Ahmad Assalia

Prof. Assalia graduated with distinction from the Hebrew University- Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel, and completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in vascular surgery at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, Israel.
He continued with research and clinical fellowships in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at Mount Sinai and Cornell Medical Centers in New York, USA.

Prof. Assalia is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.
He is a member of the editorial board of two international surgical journals and a reviewer for several other laparoscopic and bariatric journals.
He was a co-founder of the Israeli forum for bariatric surgery and currently acts as the chairman of the Israeli Society for Endoscopic Surgery.
He is an active member of numerous international surgical societies in the field of general, laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.

Prof. Assalia edited and co-edited two books and has over 100 publications including chapters in professional books.
